Our Proud History with the HP41 Calculator
Since its introduction by Hewlett Packard in 1980, the HP41CV, though called a calculator, is as much a computer as calculator. It flew on nine space shuttle missions for NASA serving as the backup system for calculations in case the main system failed. It accepts peripheral devices like printers, mass storage units, add-on memory modules, etc. via its system bus (4 plug-in ports at its top end). It is totally programmable via the keyboard and preprogrammed magnetic cards and modules. Some of its functions are accessed by single key strokes like a calculator, but other functions are accessed by spelling out their names on the alpha numeric keyboard, another reason why it's really a computer as well as a calculator.
Thousands of HP41s were sold around the world till the late 80s to scientists, engineers, mathematicians, surveyors, statisticians, students, and business professionals, etc. with a very high percentage of them still in use today.
As an authorized Hewlett Packard dealer, we have been selling them from the very beginning. We now sell refurbished units, repair customers' defective calculators, and buy and trade old ones in any condition.
